1 Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse Position Available (Days/Evenings)

St. Peter’s Residence at Chedoke is a not for profit, 210 bed, long-term care residence that features high quality living in a home like environment. We are currently hiring for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team, for a temporary position expecting to end November 30<sup>th</sup>, 2019 (potential to extend). After this full-time contract is complete you can apply for a casual position.   • Involvement with different clinical practice committees with an opportunity to chair/co-chair
  • Involvement with clinical and leadership projects and initiatives across the organization
  • Involvement with program reviews and teaching in-house courses


  • Oversees three to four Terraces, each housing thirty long-term care residents
  • Coordinates resident care with residents, residents’ families, visitors and all health team members
  • Provide nursing care and leads teams of RPNs and PSWs to ensure the provision of nursing care in accordance with administrative policies, physician’s orders, established standards and nursing principles and LTCH Act requirements
  • Develops and maintains up-to-date individual resident care plans through interdisciplinary care conferences and care planning
  • Assist the Director of Care in training, supervising and evaluating personnel as required
  • Responsible and accountable for direct resident care activities via in-service, ongoing education and dealing with related nursing issues and any other duties as assigned by the Director of Care or delegate



  • Must be a Registered Nurse with a current license in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred.
  • Minimum one year of nursing experience, long-term care experience would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices and techniques as they relate to long term care; previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Must promote customer service excellence.
  • Good physical and mental health, empathy, patience and tact are important qualities to possess.
  • Seeks out opportunities to maintain competency and continued learning.
  • The successful candidate will be required to submit a Police Check, Vulnerable Sector Check and a medical clearance.
