AbleLiving Services is a non-profit organization providing personal support services to adults with disabilities living within their own home or one of our independent living facilities. Our clients direct and customize the services they receive and we support them to maximize their independence and enhance their quality of life. We have services across the Golden Horseshoe in the Mississauga, Burlington, Stoney Creek and Hamilton communities. Position Summary

The Customer Service Assistant will provide support to the ReCharge Program by providing reception duties and will frequently be the initial contact for clients and other individuals using our Intake services.  The Customer Service Assistant may perform other administrative support services that are within the appropriate boundaries of the training and requirements of the position and within incumbent’s knowledge, abilities and skills, as assigned.  This position includes weekend responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Providing customer service and administrative duties.
  • Acts as the liaison between staff and office.
  • Acts as first point of contact for clients and community, responding to service inquiries as assigned. 
  • Processes referrals from community and partnering organizations.
  • Maintains client filing system.
  • Word processes a variety of forms and documents as required.

Position Requirement

  • College/business diploma in office administration or related certification preferred 
  • Minimum one year experience in an office environment
  • Must have previous experience with data-base management and report generation
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Attention to detail, with accurate keyboarding skills
  • Ability to format letters, forms, memos and general documents is essential for this position
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English spelling and grammatical accuracy.
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and community partners is an essential role of this position
  • Must be able to work both independently as well as part of a team
