AbleLiving Services is currently hiring 1 Full Time Registered Practical Nurse  to join our team located in Paris, Ontario. This transitional care bed program includes 20 transitional care beds and operates out of the Willett Hospital.

Position Summary:

Monitor the health status for clients within our transitional program which may include seniors and individuals with disabilities. Provide nursing services within defined scope of practice.  Monitor the building to ensure the security and safety of clients, staff and guests; and take appropriate action in an emergency situation. 

RPNs must also be available for 12 hour shifts

Requirements:

  • Completion of a vocational, college or other approved program for licensed practical nurses and registration with a regulatory body required.  
  • Must have successfully completed the Canadian Practical Nurses Registration Examination and possess a current Registered Nursing Certificate of Competence for the Province of Ontario.
  • Knowledge of Behaviour Strategies is an asset. 
  • Experience as an RPN working with persons with a disability and the senior population is an asset. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 
  • Must demonstrate the ability to use tact and discretion and display professionalism at all times; demonstrate sound judgement and flexibility and be able to solve problems effectively. 
  • Certification in health and safety and first aid is considered an asset. 
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of the job such as lifting and transferring of residents.
