We are currently seeking a Part-Time Maintenance Support at our Congregate Living Program in Binbrook.

Ableliving opened its doors in 1978 with the first project being our Binbrook location. We continue to build the organization and provide exceptional services with the support from Ontario Health. Our Binbrook location provides supports for individuals with disabilities, seniors, as well as those with long term chronic ventilation support needs.

Position Summary:

An ideal candidate will excel in various maintenance tasks including drywall work, painting, and plumbing (e.g., replacing taps, unclogging toilets). While electrical work is not required, familiarity with changing light fixtures is preferred. Additionally, responsibilities include ground inspection for cleanliness, weed eating, and proficiency with power tools like skill saws and drills.

This role contributes significantly to our preventative maintenance program, ensuring the upkeep of our building, equipment, and grounds.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Possession of high school diploma including technical credits, plus an additional technical science program of over 1 year or education equivalent.
  • Experience working with people who have disabilities an asset.
  • Able to make general repairs to building and equipment
  • Able to work independently
  • Must be reliable, conscientious, and demonstrate tact and courtesy in dealing with others
  • Must be flexible and able to adhere to time deadlines
  • Possession of an F Class license an asset
