Idlewyld Manor is an accredited, not-for-profit, charitable long-term care facility situated on Hamilton’s west mountain.  Their mission is to enrich the lives of Idlewyld residents by providing excellence in health and personal care in a safe home-like environment.  Idlewyld is home to 192 residents, on a picturesque 13-acre corner lot, dotted with trees and gardens. Idlewyld is steep in a rich history of community service, and celebrated its sesquicentennial anniversary (150 years) in 1996. Reporting to the Director of Nursing, and under the supervision of the RN in-charge, the RPN will act as:

  • An ambassador of Idlewyld Manor
  • An advocate for the resident and family
  • A supporter of the Nursing Program yearly goals
  • A participant of the interdisciplinary health team

Qualifications:

  • Current certificate of competence as a Registered Practical Nurse from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • 2-3 years experience in a LTC setting with specific knowledge/skills in current geriatric nursing care and standards preferred
