AbleLiving Services is currently hiring 1 Full-Time and 1 Part-Time Personal Attendant to join our Outreach Team working in the community. This position requires availability for day or evening and weekend shifts. 

 *A driver's license and a reliable vehicle are requirements of this position.*

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the program supervisor, this position is responsible for providing non-medical personal support services, life-skills support and light housekeeping duties to enable clients to live as independently as possible. Duties include assisting clients with personal care, arranging and escorting clients to appointments, and housekeeping services. Such duties are carried out under the direction of the client or alternate decision maker and in accordance with Client Service Contracts, laws and regulations governing service provision.

Employment Requirements:

  • Experience in the provision of personal support services to people with disabilities and/or seniors are requirements for this position
  • Additional certification in personal support care, first aid, health care or other related qualification preferred
  • Ability to empathize with people with physical and emotional needs is essential
  • Knowledge of basic math and the ability to do calculations and quantity measurements are required
  • Must be able to plan and organize work and perform tasks according to priority
  • Ability to make solid decisions and problem-solve effectively are also essential
  • Good oral and written communication skills, with a competent level of English, are requirements
  • Able to communicate in other languages is an asset
  • Must demonstrate high commitment to providing exceptional customer service and be reliable, punctual, and capable of managing time effectively
  • Ability to develop supportive relationships and work collaboratively with clients, family members, colleagues, volunteers, and community partners are essential
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently as well as part of a team
  • A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check or Criminal Reference Check is required

 

Job Type: Part-Time, Permanent and Full-Time, Temporary.
